The teaser starts off with a foot chase. This was filmed on location at the Mayfair Hotel. 3000 Florida Ave. Coconut Grove. We have seen this location used previously in Florence Italy, and French Twist. We have also seen it used in the Burn Notice episodes; Hard Bargain, Enemy of My Enemy, Dead To Rights and Desperate Times.
Then inside the Fiorucci store also at the Mayfair.
Then the man that was being chased is seen exiting the elevator inside the Mayfair Hotel where he is apprehended by mall security, not the men that were chasing him. This is not the main hotel elevator but an older one off in the back corner of the hotel.
Then we see the man in Police interrogation. This was filmed on set inside Greenwich Studios.
Then we see Sonny receive a call inside the OCB. This was filmed on set in Stage A at Greenwich Studios.
Then we return to the interrogation room. Again filmed on studio set at Greenwich Studios.
To save time and or money they went with the concrete floors of the studio instead of decorating them with tile or carpeting.
Then we see the standard season 5 opening montage.
Act 1 opens still in interrogation. Filmed on set.
Next we go to Jack’s new job at Mike’s World of Waves. Thanks to airtommy at miamiviceonline.com we know that this was filmed at the Waterside Inn, 2360 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. Now a restaurant and the interior doors have been removed.
Next we see Jack pay a house call. Filming location unknown.
Then we return to Captain Mike’s World of Waves. Filmed on location at 2360 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
This leads Jack back to Soliz’s house. Filming location unknown.
Then we see Jack return home. This was filmed on location at Villa Ipa. Located on Anchorage Way in Coconut Grove.
Then we see Jack pay Grubbs with the stolen money. Lucky for Jack he stole exactly the same amount that he owed Grubb. Filming location unknown.
Then we see Jack return home. Filmed on Anchorage Way in Coconut Grove.
He is taken to Soliz’s house. Filming location unknown.
Then we see Jack go back to beg for the money back. Filming location unknown.
Then we see Crockett waiting for Jack. Filmed on location at the Fairmont. 1000 Collins Ave. Miami Beach. We saw Ray Quick (Stallone) waiting across the street by the Essex House watching the Fairmont in The Specialist. We have also seen the Fairmont in Mirror Image and the movie All About The Benjamins.
We cut to Jack arriving by force at Escondero’s house. In reality he is back at his house just inside the front doors. Filmed on location at Villa Ipa.
Then we return to the Fairwind/Fairmont where Sonny rescues Jack. 1000 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
They dive for cover behind a low wall at the Essex Hotel where we saw Quick watching in The Specialist.
After the attack, Sonny walks Jack into an alley to straighten things out. They walk southbound on Collins Avenue despite somehow being north of where they just were. They enter an alley on the north side of the Essex Hotel, 1001 Collins Avenue. We see the north end of the Fairmont in the background across the street.
Then we see them eastbound, headed onto Watson Island on the MacArthur Causeway.
Then we go to Escondero’s house. Filmed on location at the El Jardin House, 3747 Main Highway, Coconut Grove.
Then we see Jack and Sonmny at a small, outdoor bar. This was also filmed at the Ankara Motel aka Waterside Inn, now part of the Continental. 2360 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
At the start of the scene we can see the 24th Street footbridge over Lake Pancoast that we saw in the movies, The Specialist and Bad Boys.

Then we see Jack confront Grubbs in a restaurant. Location unknown.
Then we see a limo driving at night. We see it on location headed southbound on Collins Avenue in the 1400 block. The camera was positioned just north of Espanola Way. Most of the buildings we see here are long gone now.
Then we go inside the limo. We only see the interior so it cannot be determined where this was filmed.
Then we see Crockett and Crockett getting ready for the meet. Filming location unknown.
Then we see them leaving. Filmed on location at Villa Ipa on Anchorage Way, Coconut Grove. We saw the inside of these doors when jack was thrown to the ground in what was presented as Escandero’s house earlier in the episode.
Next we see them at Escandero’s house. Filmed on location at the El Jardin House, 3747 Main Highway, Coconut Grove.
We see Jack take off in a boat. This was suppose to be him leaving Escandero’s but in reality this was filmed way up on the North Bay Causeway (79th Street) in Pelican Harbor Park.

The skyline sure has changed.
We saw this location in a drive by in the movie; All About The Benjamins.

They chase Jack down the stairs. It went unnoticed by me for a long time but I finally realized that this cut was a reversed or flipped image. This is the only time I recall in Vice that this was done during a foot chase/walking scene. It was done several times in driving scenes and stationary shots but this is unique.
